WHAT IS THE SSL CR?

Freight Forwarding in the Czech Republic has a great tradition and is among one of the oldest in the world. In Vienna in 1997 the World Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) met for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the first national association of forwarders in the world, established in Austria. It's necessary to state that their members were an entire series of forwarding companies with headquarters in the Czech part of the Austrian empire.

Czech freight forwarding was very active after the forming of an independent Czechoslovakia in 1918 even on the international scene. In 1926 and in 1946 Czechoslovakia was the founding member of the world forwarding association FIATA.

In 1948 and for practically the next 40 years, total liquidation of private enterprising in freight forwarding occurred under the program of total nationalization. As with other business spheres a state monopoly system was emplaced.

1991: shortly after crucial political changes, the "Association of Forwarding and Warehousing of the Czech Republic" was created as a professional trade society of mainly private companies of this type. In 1992 the association became a proper member of FIATA. (Detailed information on FIATA can be found at www.fiata.com).

1998: there came a change in the title to "Association of Forwarding and Logistics of the Czech Republic".

FREIGHT FORWARDING AND LOGISTIC SERVICES
"Freight Forwarding Services" means services of any kind relating to the carriage (performed by single mode or multimodal transport means), consolidation, storage, handling, packing or distribution of the Goods as well as ancillary and advisory services in connection therewith, including but not limited to customs and fiscal matters, declaring the Goods for official purposes, procuring insurance of the Goods and collecting or procuring payment or documents relating to the Goods. Freight Forwarding Services also include logistical services with modern information and communication technology in connection with the carriage, handling or storage of the Goods, and de facto total supply chain management (Definition accepted by FIATA and CLECAT in 2004).
